We are a dynamic and close-knit team that aims to support children and their families to develop confidence in themselves and their own ability to achieve goals. We pride ourselves on only providing evidence-informed approaches, and believe that the key to success is building strong relationships as well as having an extensive knowledge base.  We are constantly attending professional development events to make sure we always offer consistent and outstanding service. We know our team sets us apart and we are confident you will leave your sessions with greater knowledge, confidence and a clear pathway to skill development.

Alyssa Armytage

Occupational Therapist

Alyssa has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Australian Catholic University) and began working at Kid Link in 2022. She has worked with children since 2017 across a variety of roles.

Alyssa embraces individual differences and diversity, and believes all children deserve to feel included and to have fun. She is passionate about empowering families and supporting children to achieve their goals through fun, meaningful, strengths-based therapy.

 

Caitlyn Cowie

Senior Occupational Therapist

Caitlyn has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from Monash University and began working with Kid Link in early 2017. Caitlyn is endorsed by OT Australia to practice within the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health program.

Caitlyn is passionate about supporting families to feel confident and competent in supporting their child across environments through discussing knowledge, ideas, and strategies. Caitlyn understands that no single approach is the right one for every child or family, and aims to provide a flexible approach to therapy that is fun, family centered, and focuses on wellbeing and independence.

Danni Gheorghe

Senior Occupational Therapist

Danni has an undergraduate in Applied Sciences, Psychology (Deakin University) and a Masters in Occupational Therapy Practice (Monash University). Danni is endorsed by OT Australia to practice within the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health program.

Danni has worked with children for 10 years and has been a registered Occupational Therapist with a special interest in paediatrics since 2017. Danni is endorsed by OT Australia to practice within the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health program. Danni is extremely passionate about working collaboratively with children and young people, alongside their families, to reach greater independence and fulfilment within their daily lives. Within her practice, Danni strives to provide her clients and their families with family-centred education and skills to empower them to become experts in problem solving and managing their challenges, to work towards independence.

Mikayla Heaton

Occupational Therapist

Mikayla has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from Monash University and began working at Kid Link OT in 2021.

Mikayla is passionate about providing children and teens the best possible opportunity to develop and flourish as independent individuals. With every family Mikayla works with, she strives to create a safe and nurturing environment whilst undertaking a strength-based and evidenced-based approach to therapy. Mikayla is a positive and dynamic therapist who tailors sessions to a family’s specific needs, interests and skill levels. Mikayla hopes to make a positive difference in each child’s life and make therapy both fun and functional, ensuring skills acquired in sessions can be transferred to the home in order to maximise outcomes and achieve goals!

Ruth Hooper

Occupational Therapist

Ruth has a Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Occupational Therapy (LaTrobe University), graduating in 2015.

Ruth has always enjoyed working with children, having worked with them in various employment opportunities for the past 14 years. Ruth started at Kid Link at the beginning of 2017. Within her practice, Ruth loves and enjoys working with families to understand and address the challenges that their child is experiencing based on the strengths of the child and family. Ruth is passionate about working from a family centred approach, equipping families with the tools they need to feel empowered to problem solve and support their child to find those difficult things, less difficult. Ruth enjoys working with all ages and challenge areas, to see children increase their independence, confidence, and skills.

Lauren James

Family Liaison Coordinator

Lauren joined the Family Liaison team in 2022. You will see her on the front desk Monday to Friday.

Having completed studies in Health Sciences, and engaging in several years of medical administration, Lauren enjoys working in healthcare and supporting families to thrive by facilitating and coordinating front of house experiences at Kidlink OT.

Emily Milner

Occupational Therapist

Emily has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Honours) from Monash University and began working at Kid Link in 2022.

Emily is passionate about supporting young people to reach their full potential, become more independent, and thrive. She understands the importance of working together with families to empower them with the skills they need to achieve their goals, and endeavours to always adopt a strengths-based approach grounded in current evidence. Emily strives to develop a safe, fun, and trusting therapeutic environment for those that she works with.

Jackie Sikic

Director and Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist

Jackie is the owner and director of Kid Link Occupational Therapy and has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Deakin University).

Jackie started Kid Link in 2013 and has 13 years experience working in non-government organisations, hospitals, schools and private practice. Jackie’s goal was to create a welcoming and supportive environment where team culture is a priority and families always receive consistent and extraordinary service delivery.  Jackie is endorsed by OT Australia to practice within the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health program. Jackie loves mentoring other OTs and supporting them to become exceptional therapists

Caitlin Smith

Caitlin has worked with children and adolescents for 10 years in various employment opportunities. Caitlin has been a registered Occupational Therapist with a special interest in paediatrics since 2016. Caitlin is passionate about supporting children and young people to reach their full potential within their daily activities. Within her practice, Caitlin aims to provide her clients and their families with family-centred education and opportunity for individual skill development in a tailored, collaborative and engaging way. Caitlin strives to empower her clients and their families to increase their confidence and competence to address goal areas in the home and community environment, with aims of greater independence and overall wellbeing.

Samantha Tavrou

Occupational Therapist

Sam has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (La Trobe University). She has worked with children for 15 years and has been a registered Occupational Therapist with a special interest in paediatrics since 2012.

Sam started her career in early intervention, focusing on empowering young children and their families to confidently gain skills and independence within their daily routines. Sam is passionate about working with children, young people, their families and their relevant care teams, using a family-centred approach to meet functional goals and optimising development in all areas. Within her practice, Sam aims to deliver fun and engaging therapy sessions, whilst providing practical strategies that fit within the family’s routines and lifestyle. Sam enjoys providing tailored education to support families in confidently meeting their goals, both in the home and community setting.

Caity Waters

Occupational Therapist

Caity has a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) and a Masters of Occupational Therapy from Monash University. Caity has been a registered Occupational Therapist since 2019, and began working in paediatrics in 2021.

Caity is passionate about working collaboratively with children and their families to develop and achieve their own unique goals in a fun, supportive and engaging way. Caity uses a strengths-based and family centred approach to achieve meaningful outcomes; always recognising people’s individual interests, abilities and potential. Caity enjoys empowering and supporting children of all ages to participate in their chosen activities of daily living and to improve their overall skills, wellbeing and confidence.

Georgina Werninghaus

Occupational Therapist

Georgina has completed a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy at Australian Catholic University and a Bachelor of Health Sciences (majoring in Exercise Science, Psychology and Family Studies) at Deakin University.

Georgina has worked with children for 13 years across a variety of roles, and has been a registered Occupational Therapist with a special interest in paediatrics since 2021. Georgina loves supporting and empowering children and their families to reach their child’s goals in a collaborative, fun, and positive environment. She is passionate about ensuring therapy is child and family centred, in order to provide the best possible opportunity for the child to achieve increased confidence, independence, and enjoyment within their daily occupations. She enjoys working closely with families to problem solve challenges and achieve meaningful outcomes.

Megan West

Occupational Therapist

Megan has a Bachelors Degree with First Class Honours in Occupational Therapy (University of Queensland). Megan is endorsed by OT Australia to practice within the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health program.

Megan has worked with children for 10 years across a variety of roles, and has been a registered Occupational Therapist with a special interest in paediatrics since 2016. Megan takes pride in providing a holistic approach to therapy, and believes in empowering young people and their families to become active participants in their therapy journey. Within her practice, Megan is passionate about tailoring therapy in order to ensure that it is strengths based, and as much fun as it is effective.

Josh White

Occupational Therapist

Josh has a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (Australian Catholic University). Josh has worked with children for 5 years and has been a registered Occupational Therapist with a special interest in paediatrics since 2020.

Josh is passionate about helping children reach their potential, while providing a trusting, fun and collaborative therapy environment for both the child and family. Josh understands the importance of a holistic approach when working with a family. He utilises this knowledge to support a child’s independence and development across all domains, to foster independence and learning within the family dynamic.

Chelsea Willis

Family Liaison Coordinator & Administration

Chelsea started at Kid Link in 2017 and keeps everything running smoothly in terms of administration. She and Jess coordinate all the behind the scenes and non direct aspects of therapy.

Chelsea has a background in business management and loves working with families. She is always happy to help in any way she can.
